Come lend a hand! Bayside Adventure is partnering with Compassion Planet to set-up a pumpkin patch that will benefit aged-out foster youth. Volunteers will arrive at Deer Creek Farms (the non-profit’s store) in Rocklin to help carefully unload pumpkins from a delivery truck. Pumpkins will be set-up up as a pumpkin patch in the garden in preparation for the patch’s grand opening the following day. All proceeds from this patch benefit the aged-out foster youth they serve. We want to be a bright light in our community and bring glory to God.
This is the perfect service opportunity for middle school and high school families (kids ages 12+), college-aged youth and adults who are looking for a local way to make a difference.
More about Compassion Planet: This incredible non-profit provides one-on-one support to aged-out foster youth and other at-risk youth who go through their program to learn employment skills, receive mentorship, connections to resources, and life-time support as a family. Projects like the pumpkin patch help to fund these programs.
Plan to arrive a little before 3:30 PM so that we can start on time.
*For this service project, we are asking younger siblings to either stay at home or stay in the outdoor café area with parental supervision. We are hoping parents can serve alongside their youth.
Parents and students will need to sign a waiver upon arrival.
